Tackling climate change
Building on its mission to contribute to a greener world, the Dutch Postcode Lottery has been organising the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge since 2007. Marieke van Schaik, Managing Director of the Dutch Postcode Lottery: “Climate change demands new ways of thinking. In order to be able to foster and encourage entrepreneurs in the field of sustainable innovation, we started the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge in 2007. The creativity, drive and ambition with which these startups are tackling our planet’s current challenges is phenomenal. This year, we will celebrate our 10th anniversary! I am very curious as to which promising startups are going to surprise us in this year’s edition.”
Entry & selection process
Startups can enter their business plan via www.greenchallenge.info up to and including 1 June 2016. The preliminary jury will publish a longlist of 25 startups in July. In August, it will be announced which five candidates will be competing on finals day. At the finals in Amsterdam on 14 September, the five finalists will pitch their business plans to the international jury, the audience and the press. The jury will then select the winner, who will receive €500,000. After the competition, all five finalists will be offered an intensive 10-day accelerator programme to optimise their business chances.
